DECEMBER 8 - National brownie day, First night of Chanukah
The Jewish holiday of Chanukah is known as the Festival of Lights. This holiday commemorates the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem, where a one-day supply of oil miraculously burned for eight nights. The menorah is used to symbolize this miracle. The ninth candle in the menorah is called the Shamash, or helper candle, and is used to light the ones surrounding it.
Make this easy Marshmallow Menorah
Materials
- 1 piece of card board, 11X14 in.
- 10 marshmallows
- Nine birthday candles Vanilla frosting
How to
- Spread frosting on one end on 9 of the marshmallows and stick them onto the cardboard, frosting side down.
- Spread frosting on one end of the 10th marshmallow and put it on top of the center marshmallow, so that it is stacked two high. This is the Shamash.
- Poke birthday candles into each marshmallow
