Songs, February Activities
FEBRUARY 4-Thank a mail person day, Liberace day, Quacker day
Get out your quacker and play along! This is one of the most fun kid's songs ever!
Kids love the arrival of the mail. Make collecting it something the two of you do together every day. You can count the pieces of mail, and sort them into piles for various members of the family. Every so often, send a note to your child, and see his or her face light up with delight upon seeing the envelope. And since today is all about appreciating the person who braves all kinds of weather to deliver the endless stream of cards, letters, catalogs, and magazines to your door, brighten your mail carrier’s day with a thank you card or picture from your child. It’s sure to bring a smile to his or her face all day—even when the dog down the street is tugging at a trouser leg!
Liberace was the 60's answer to Lady Gaga. Enjoy this performance of Malaguena. Then get dressed up in your glitziest clothes and have fun with the piano.

Teddy Bear, Bees, Insects, July Activities, Songs
JULY 10 - Teddy Bear's Picnic Day, Don't step on a bee day, Hop a park day
Bumble bees are large, hairy bees that carry pollen on their back legs and are crucial in the pollination of crops. Although Bumble Bees are relatively docile, as we all know, a close encounter with one can be frightening – especially if you’re near their nests. Here is a great art project that will be totally pain free!
Paper Bag Bumble Bees Materials Regular paper lunch bags Black and Yellow paint Non-toxic glue stick Child-safe scissors Newspaper (for stuffing the bags) Yellow construction paper for wings String (for hanging)
How To 1. Lay the bags on the table so that the fold is at the top away from you. 2. Have your child paint the bags with alternating yellow and black stripes (horizontally). 3. Cut wings out of the yellow construction paper. 4. When the bag is dry, stuff it and add the wings by gluing them on. 5. Paint eyes and a smiley face on the square end of the stuffed bag. 6. Hang your bee from the ceiling near an open window so that the breeze causes your bee to buzz around.
For some added bee fun, sing this very silly song. Baby Bumblebee
Today is the day the Teddy Bear's have their picnic! Head out to the back yard with those Teddy Bears and set up a wonderful picnic. Bring all the teddy bear's and your child's favorite picnic foods. Be sure to invite friends. Then, stand back as the childrens' imaginations go wild.
THE TEDDY BEAR's PICNIC
The Teddy Bears' Picnic" song was written by British songwriter Jimmy Kennedy in 1932 based on a melody written by John Bratton in 1907.

If you go out in the woods today You're sure of a big surprise. If you go out in the woods today You'd better go in disguise. For every bear that ever there was Will gather there for certain, because Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.
Picnic time for teddy bears, The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today. Watch them, catch them unawares, And see them picnic on their holiday. See them gaily dance about. They love to play and shout. And never have any cares. At six o'clock their mommies and daddies Will take them home to bed Because they're tired little teddy bears.
If you go out in the woods today, You'd better not go alone. It's lovely out in the woods today, But safer to stay at home. For every bear that ever there was Will gather there for certain, because Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic
Every teddy bear, that's been good Is sure of a treat today There's lots of wonderful things to eat And wonderful games to play Beneath the trees, where nobody sees They'll hide and seek as long as they please Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic
