Take a few moments out to have a good laugh today. Try singing a sad song while jumping or twirling, running through the sprinklers, putting on funny wigs and looking in the mirror - or think of the silliest Knock Knock Jokes ever - or watch this very silly video..

APRIL 15—Rubber Eraser Day
Take this opportunity to introduce your very young child to the “magic” that takes place when you rub an eraser over pencil marks on a page. Say, “I can make that disappear!” and watch your child’s eyes widen as the drawing or words vanish. For older children, a discussion of why it’s okay to make mistakes is in order—as they say, “If nobody ever made mistakes, pencils wouldn’t have erasers!”

APRIL 29—Zipper Day, National Playground Safety Week
Zippers and other fasteners are not the easiest thing for a little person to tackle. Be patient as you help your little one to practice. One way to help is with a dress-up doll. There are several types - boys, girls, animals. In addition to learning how to use buttons and zippers, your child will be developing their fine motor skills and learning all about cause and effect.
Take a picnic lunch to the playground today and enjoy pushing your little one on the swings, catching him or her at the bottom of the slide, and digging in the sand. And while you’re there, double-check to make sure that the equipment and environment are up to safety snuff. Playground safety checklist
